Penpont Green Woodwork
Penpont Green Woodwork is situated at Penpont Brecon, an estate which is surrounded by around 50 hectares of traditional
woodland and lies within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Green woodwork items are made in the workshop by Gareth Irwin
using wood felled from the Estate as part of sustainable woodland management.
The workshop continues Wales' long history of woodcrafts using the exact techniques and materials developed over thousands
of years before the use of electricity. Adjoining the workshop is a shop selling items made by Gareth which include;
hand-turned bowls, stick-chairs and carved wooden spoons.
Gareth’s work ensures that this rich heritage is continued in the present day.
